Divine Lips By Joan Collins

What happens when a yesteryear diva launches a makeup line you ask? The result is a classy range of gold cased products by Joan Collins. With purely vintage lip shades, its Divine Lips range reflects the timelessness of her makeup code. Joan has even named each lipstick after her most iconic on-screen character. Only makes sense, since this fashion icon was rocking a graphic liner and a purple lip decades before they became the norm at fashion week. For those millennials unaware about this British goddess, she plays The Grand Duchess of Oxford in The Royals.

I tried Divine Lips in a beautiful coral number, Suzy Starr. The soft and silky lipstick glides like a dream, leaving a creamy opaque finish. But the camera does not capture the colour in its true form. On application, it turns to a deeper orange with pinkish undertones. If you like your orange lip but want it to be wearable, you should definitely try Suzy Starr. The range even has a handy Compact Duo with a lightweight skin-responsive powder, a bright lippy and a high def mirror – perfect to slide in those tiny evening-out clutches. This translucent compact powder is a matte finish quick-fix like that used on-set to reduce shine (and keep you pap ready!).

I love how the lipstick is securely fastened in its magnetic case to avoid mishaps. Mine came with a gorgeous summery shade,  Evelyn. Just like the other shade, Evelyn dries to a glossy finish and feels super creamy and lush on application. It apparently even has Hyaluronic acid in it to keep those smackers soft. No wonders it tamed my dehydrated lips on application. Hours later, it wore out to leave a natural looking, pigmented tint. I actually got asked what lip stain I was wearing! (Lol) I think it's a glamorous little statement piece you can use to powder thy nose in public. The gold compact duo is a great product design for festival goers, party animals or even the regular social bee. If you are unsure about what lip colours to invest in next, just check Joan Collins range for creamy shots of pigmented velvetiness. Or you can always try out a few shades at your local M&S before you indulge.
