Lipstick Review: L.A. Girl Fleur Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss

L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Fleur

Availability: This product averages $4-5. You can find it at lagirlusa.com although I've seen it sold at beauty supply stores so check those.
Would I buy this again?: Maybe... I do like it :P
Notes:  I'd say that this is a caramel color with just the slightest hint of plum and it's like... I love colors like these because they give an interesting twist to nudes and look great on most skintones, especially on deep complexions but most brands put out nudes that are WAY too fleshy, pinkish, gray, purple, or milky to work on a deep, deep complexion. Colors like this work like a charm because they've got that nice warm base. As a makeup artist that truly frustrates me but at least we know we've got an inexpensive option in a formula that's increasingly popular. Speaking of frustration and formulas... I wish they wouldn't call it a "matte flat gloss." No... just... no. Matte = doesn't reflect shine, flat color; gloss = very reflective, shiny, glossy. These are a liquid-to-matte lipstick or a liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish, there's nothing glossy about it. It's poor marketing to call these a gloss because I get people asking me for matte glosses and I have no glue what they're talking about because part of the time they want something like this, part of the time they want a gloss, part of the time they don't know either. Yeah... Not a fan of the naming.
Despite the rant about the name of the product I think the product itself is fantastic, I love this color, I think the formula is nice in that it goes on smooth, it's not particularly drying and it stays on all day. At $4 and with the color selection offered, this is a steal.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions. :)

Disclaimer: I bought this myself.
