L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil Review

When I was a teenager, the last thing I would have put on my hair would have been oil. I was so insecure that I was touching it all the time, getting it out of my face or in it, or flipping it from left to right. It would turn greasy right away from touching.

As I become a beautiful woman...;) (ugly ducklings always turn into beautiful swans), still in my teens, I felt so luxurious buying an 8 euro serum from Palmer's. Something so smell to cost that much, I thought, because I'm worth it. Haha. To think that I never wash my hair with something cheaper than 8 euros :)

Anyway so, years later, I'm treating my hair a lot more, taking way more showers etc than when I was a teenager, curling it, straightening it, and blowdrying it at very high temperature to get all the frizz out and to get crisp smooth silk hair. I also tend to dye it whenever I'm not very pleased or as soon as I spot the tiniest hint of redness.

All of this has lead to dry hair instead of oily. I bought a product a month ago for 9 euros called L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil. I love inovative products, such as this one, claiming to be light-weight, non-greasy, possible to apply pre-wash, post-wash and on dry hair. There aren't that many products like that.

So what this oil does is create an anti-frizz effect, create a beautiful mass of hair instead of dry strings or flat threads. The red bottle also promises to give shine and depth to coloured hair. Just like the serum that you get with L'Oreal Excellence dye (the serum that you apply before dying, to protect it), you can apply this serum before washing. I've always wanted to be able to bye that kind of serum seperately, and I guess I can now! Like I said you can also choose to apply the serum after washing, and even when it's dry, to create some shine. I'm not sure if it works anti-frizz, but this was my experience:

I preferd to apply it after washing, so I would have a fresh coat for blow drying. That's the problem: I'm not sure whether you can do all 3 of the possibilities. I think that will make hair too greasy. So I decided to go for the post-washing application. I applied 5 portions (I have long hair, around 80 centimeters), mostly to the length and ends. My hair absorbed it quite well, even after conditioning, which was a good sign. I took a special drop just for the ends. It contains alcohol, which is probably why it feels so light. I'm not so crazy about hair products with alcohol though, especially in summer. I'm so scared about my hair discoloring in the sun. Anyway, after blowdrying my hair felt very softed and looked very shiney. It was supple, easy to style, and it kind of smelled nice, and I didn't even use such a great shampoo and conditioner (Hair Wonder and dessange).

So I'm very glad with this product. It's quite a big bottle, but it costs 9 euros. If your hair isn't dyed, bye the yellow bottle!
